Material Handler / FLT Driver (PIV Driver)

Contract Duration: 6-Month Temporary Assignment

Working Hours

  • 39-hour week
  • Monday to Friday
  • 3-shift rotation (3 SHIFTS)

Pay Rates

  • £18.46 per hour (including shift allowance)
  • Overtime 1 (1.5x)
  • Overtime 2 (2x)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Material Handler / FLT Driver to join our Warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a variety of material handling and warehouse tasks both inside and outside the site, ensuring all activities are completed safely, accurately, and within agreed timescales.

This role requires excellent time management skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIVs) safely and efficiently.
  • Transport materials, products, and equipment across the site.
  • Complete warehouse handling and storage tasks in line with company procedures.
  • Carry out duties both indoors and outdoors as required.
  • Support stock movement, loading, unloading, and inventory activities.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve operational targets.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment.
  • Accurately process and record transactions using SAP.
  • Follow all health, safety, and quality procedures.

Essential Requirements

  • Valid and current PIV/FLT licences, including:
    • Reach Truck
    • Counterbalance Truck
    • Man Rider
  • Previous experience operating PIV/FLT equipment.
  • SAP experience.
  • Warehouse experience.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Flexible approach to work and shift patterns.
  • Positive, can-do attitude.
  • Commitment to safe working practices.

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience within a manufacturing or industrial warehouse environment.
  • Knowledge of inventory control and warehouse processes.
  • Experience working across both internal and external site locations.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be an experienced, licensed FLT/PIV driver who is reliable, flexible, and capable of working independently while contributing to team success. They will demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent safety awareness, and a commitment to delivering high standards of productivity and service.

Candidates must hold the required PIV/FLT licences and have relevant driving experience. Applications from individuals without the necessary licences and experience will not be considered.
