Material Handling Operator / Spares Engineer
📍 Location: Lincoln (Teal Park Road, LN6 3AD)
💷 Pay Rate: £15.87 per hour PAYE (£21.45 per hour Umbrella)
📅 Contract: 6-Month Rolling Contract
⏰ Hours: Day Shift, 7:30am to 4:00pm (Flexible Working Hours Available)
🚗 Travel Required: Flexibility to work across multiple Lincoln sites when required
The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for a Material Handling Operator / Spares Engineer to join a busy stores and logistics operation supporting a large-scale manufacturing environment in Lincoln.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced warehouse or logistics professional with forklift experience to work within a fast-paced operational team, supporting the movement, storage and distribution of critical materials and components. Full training will be provided across key processes and systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Unloading and receiving deliveries
- Checking incoming materials against documentation
- Booking deliveries into SAP and processing stock transactions
- Storing materials safely in warehouse locations and high-rise racking
- Picking, kitting and issuing materials to production areas
- Carrying out material movements using forklift trucks
- Operating overhead cranes where required
- Maintaining accurate inventory records
- Supporting internal departments to resolve material-related issues
- Completing goods receipt activities and stock control functions
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety and quality standards

Essential Requirements
- Previous warehouse, stores or material handling experience
- Forklift truck operating experience
- Basic computer literacy
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced logistics environment
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Reliable commute to Lincoln and flexibility to work across multiple sites
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Valid FLT licence/certification
- SAP experience
- Full UK driving licence
- Overhead crane operating experience
- Experience within a manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment
What We're Looking For
The successful candidate will be proactive, adaptable and safety-focused, with experience working in warehouse or logistics operations. You will be comfortable managing multiple priorities, using warehouse management systems and working collaboratively with production and engineering teams to ensure materials are available when needed.
Contract Details
- 6-month rolling contract
- Immediate start available
- Single-stage interview process
- Interviews conducted via Microsoft Teams or face-to-face

Pay & Benefits
- £15.87 per hour PAYE
- £21.45 per hour Umbrella
- Overtime paid at 1.25x standard rate
- Weekend work paid at 1.5x standard rate
- Flexible working hours available
- Comprehensive training provided
Additional Information
- This is a fully site-based role (5 days per week on-site)
- No remote working available
- An in-date FLT licence is highly desirable
- Candidates with existing FLT licences may be able to complete a conversion course if required
- Successful candidates will be required to complete a pre-employment medical assessment
