Lead Material Planner

Gaydon, Warwickshire

39 Hours Per Week | Monday to Thursday 06:30 - 15:30 | Friday 06:30 - 11:30

Drive Excellence Behind the World's Most Beautiful Cars

At Aston Martin, our iconic vehicles are the result of exceptional craftsmanship, precision engineering, and seamless collaboration across every part of the business. Behind every vehicle that leaves our production line is a highly effective supply chain that ensures the right materials arrive at the right place at the right time.

We are currently seeking a talented and driven Lead Material Planner to join our Supply Chain team at our Gaydon manufacturing facility. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced planning professional to play a critical role in supporting production operations and helping deliver the outstanding quality our customers expect from Aston Martin.

The Role

As a Lead Material Planner, you will be responsible for scheduling and controlling the supply of materials and components to support both immediate production requirements and future build programmes. Working at the heart of the manufacturing operation, you will ensure material availability while maintaining target inventory levels and minimizing supply chain disruption.

You will proactively manage supply risks, monitor material availability, and develop effective recovery plans to support production schedules. A key aspect of the role will involve working closely with suppliers, logistics providers, procurement teams, and manufacturing stakeholders to ensure parts are delivered on time and in full.

You will take ownership of supplier performance, leading constructive discussions and improvement initiatives where required. The position also involves coordinating engineering changes and modifications with the supply base, helping to minimize obsolete stock while ensuring continuity of supply.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
