Job Title: Materials Planner

Hours of Work:
Monday - Thursday 08:00 - 16:30, Friday 8:00 - 1:00

We supply headlamps and rear lamps for many of the world’s most iconic car brands. Wipac has grown significantly in recent years and was sold to a large Chinese corporation Anrui Optoelectronics at the end of 2019. Anrui have a strong desire to invest significantly and continue to grow their share of the European and North American automotive lighting markets. Wipac is focussed on its transformation to be a world-class manufacturer and as such wants to attract the best individuals who have the drive and commitment to contribute to the positive change of the business.

Main Purpose:
To ensure customers demand is met by continuous supply of components whilst ensuring that budgetary constraints are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review customer demand to ensure continuous, uninterrupted supply.
  • Using in house ERP system, create supplier schedules and ensure they are communicated and received weekly.
  • Create good working relationships with customers and suppliers allowing for frank and open dialogue regarding demand and supply.
  • To liaise closely with customers and suppliers to ensure risks to supply are communicated in a timely fashion and work with them to produce robust recovery plans.
  • Ensure all inbound and outbound special freight is recorded and the root causes understood and implement plans to prevent re-occurrence.
  • Ensure system data is maintained regarding SO due dates.
  • Ensure timely escalation of known supply risks to the internal stake holders
  • Work closely with the Purchasing team to ensure supplier adherence to SLA’s.
  • To participate in the ECR process to ensure minimum obsolescence whilst highlighting cost risks due to the planned change and understanding who is liable.
  • Ensure Materials Planning metrics meet with annual forecast for Inventory and for freight in.
  • Identify areas for improvement and work with the team to implement any improvements.
  • Actively participate in all problem solving activities.
  • Participate in weekly specific process reviews to improve knowledge and identify improvements.
  • Continually review our current processes and identify and communicate areas for improvement.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Experience in a similar role within Manufacturing sector, preferably automotive.
  • Demonstrable proficiency in Mathematics with an excellent level of attention to detail.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office programmes including Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables etc.)
  • Previous experience of S.A.P would be desirable.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers, internal and external customers.
  • Able to work on own initiative and be able to adapt to new processes and situations.
