Standard Job Description

Prepares lists of materials, accessories, and parts used in production following engineering and design blueprints. Examines blueprints, identifies parts code, computes quantity needed, and lists total material requirements including contract numbers, routing, and special handling instructions. May be required to submit list to purchasing department for use in preparing purchase orders.

About The Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Master Scheduler by reporting schedule status, highlighting risks, constraints, and potential production delays.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing, Stores, Procurement, and Supply Chain teams to ensure material availability supports production requirements.
  • Raise and release purchase requisitions in line with agreed SLAs to support on-time procurement activity.
  • Coordinate material shipments and returns between on-site and off-site locations.
  • Monitor programme requirements, expedite deliveries, identify shortages, and manage actions to minimise production disruption.
  • Utilise MRP and ERP data to drive material planning activities and ensure timely material availability.
  • Prioritise material kits to support production build schedules.
  • Proactively resolve material and supply chain issues through effective stakeholder engagement and problem solving.

Required Skills, Qualifications And Experience

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within Aerospace, Defence, Automotive, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Strong understanding of material planning, inventory control, and supply chain processes.
  • Experience working with complex Bills of Materials (BOMs) and supporting large-scale manufacturing operations.
  • Good working knowledge of SAP, including material management and purchase requisition processes.
  • Experience running Line of Balance (LOB) reports and managing shop floor kitting activities.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel; macro knowledge is advantageous.
  • Proven ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritise workload, drive actions to completion, and hold stakeholders accountable.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain SC Security Clearance.
