Material Scientist - Worthing

The purpose of the Material Scientist is to support research and development activities through the collection, analysis and management of chemical, clinical and experimental data. The role is responsible for providing high-quality scientific support to research projects while maintaining a safe, organised and efficient laboratory environment.

Please note this role is 100% on-site at our HQ in Worthing.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Collect and analyse chemical data
  • Collect and analyse clinical and medical samples
  • Provide ready access to all experimental data for the researcher and/or supervisor
  • Request or acquire equipment or supplies necessary for specific projects
  • Manage and respond to project related email
  • Attend project meetings
  • Setup, calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment
  • Develop research protocols and new analytical test methods
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
  • Maintain a clean and tidy lab environment
  • Place orders of chemicals and lab consumables

What Experience & Skills You Will Need:

  • Higher degree or masters in Biological or Chemical Sciences (BSc/MSc)
  • Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience
  • PhD in Biological or chemical sciences (desirable)
