Material Support Specialist

Location: Brize Norton, Oxfordshire (100% Onsite)
Contract: 12 Months Initially
Hours: 35 hours per week (4.5-day working week)
Rate: £30.00 per hour Umbrella / £22.43 per hour PAYE
Security Clearance: BPSS+ (with ability to obtain SC Clearance)
IR35: Off-Payroll Working Rules Apply (Inside IR35)

Our client is seeking two Material Support Specialists to join their team based at Brize Norton. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced supply chain and material management professionals to support a high-profile operational environment, ensuring critical material requirements are delivered efficiently to meet maintenance and operational demands.

The Role

As a Material Support Specialist, you will be responsible for managing material requirements, monitoring supply chain performance, and supporting operational delivery through effective stakeholder engagement and issue resolution. You will work closely with internal teams and customers to ensure material availability, identify risks, and escalate supply issues where necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor material demands to support operational and maintenance activities.
  • Build and maintain strong customer and stakeholder relationships.
  • Identify supply chain risks and implement appropriate escalation processes.
  • Produce and maintain supply chain reports and performance updates.
  • Attend operational and planning meetings, providing material management support.
  • Follow up on delayed deliveries, missing documentation, and supply concerns.
  • Support problem resolution and ensure issues are escalated appropriately.
  • Work within SAP and other material management systems to maintain accurate records and reporting.

About You

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Previous experience in a Material Support, Supply Chain, Procurement Coordination, or Material Management role.
  • Strong experience using SAP for material management and reporting.
  • Experience producing reports and analysing supply chain performance.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and customer-facing skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capability to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Experience attending and contributing to operational meetings.
  • Engineering, manufacturing, or aerospace sector experience would be advantageous.
