Materials Controller

Location: Coventry, West Midlands

Salary: £30,000 to £35,000 per annum + Benefits

Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent

About The Company

Our client is a leading UK manufacturer within the offsite construction and modern methods of construction (MMC) sector. Operating from a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, they design, manufacture and supply high-performance building systems for projects across the education, healthcare, residential and commercial sectors. The business is continuing to grow and is seeking an experienced Materials Controller to support its manufacturing and supply chain operations.

The Role

Responsible for the seamless flow of materials across Innovare ensuring production lines are always fed with the right materials at the right time to prevent downtime. Leading a small team, the role manages pick lists, monitors stock levels and works closely with procurement to eliminate stock-outs and maintain accurate stock locations. The role also supports site-based workers with the timely supply of materials acting as the central coordination point between procurement and logistics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate all goods in
  • Prepare and maintain locations for incoming materials
  • Coordinate with Procurement
  • Coordinate the delivery of material to all production lines
  • Verify contents against orders and inspect for quality and accuracy
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping in area of responsibility
  • Cover for the Logistic's coordinator
  • Identify opportunities to reduce inventory costs while maintaining production continuity.
  • Produce inventory and materials reports for management.

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience in a Materials Controller, Inventory Controller, Stock Controller or Supply Chain role within manufacturing.
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management and material planning.
  • Excellent organisational and analytical skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across multiple departments.
  • Experience within construction products, timber, engineering, manufacturing or offsite construction would be advantageous.
