Purpose

The Materials Coordinator is responsible for sourcing, ordering, expediting and managing the delivery of parts for lifts and escalators required to support both in-service and out-of-service equipment.

Working closely with Service Engineers, Service Management and other key stakeholders and suppliers, this role provides a critical function across the GB & Ireland Service operation.

The role is essential in ensuring parts are available when required, enabling engineers to complete repairs and maintenance visits efficiently and effectively.

Key responsibilities

The Materials Coordinator is responsible for:

  • Sourcing and ordering parts for service requirements.
  • Managing urgent requests for equipment that is out of service.
  • Liaising with suppliers to obtain best lead times.
  • Ensuring the most cost-effective sourcing solutions are utilised.
  • Supporting engineers in the field to minimise delays.
  • Contributing to equipment uptime and service delivery performance.
  • Act as first point of contact for customers inquiries regarding spare parts.

Key skills & experiences

  • Experience in inventory management, procurement, or logistics (parts is desirable).
  • Previous customer service/office/administrative experience is essential.
  • Good organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
  • Collaborative team player.
  • Good Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience of work in SAP, Salesforce is desirable.
