Materials Handler

Location: Plymouth

Salary: £29,000

Shifts: 2 Shifts - 6am - 2pm and 2pm - 10pm, Monday - Friday

About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient movement of materials throughout the warehouse and production facility, supporting the smooth operation of manufacturing and customer deliveries. You'll safely load, unload, pick, pack, and store goods, operate a forklift truck, process stock movements using SAP and WMS, and maintain high standards of safety, quality, and housekeeping. Working in a fast-paced environment, you'll play a key role in keeping production supplied and ensuring orders are prepared accurately and on time.

  • Safely load, unload, move, and store materials throughout the warehouse and production areas using forklifts and other handling equipment.
  • Pick, prepare, pack, and label customer orders, production kits, and spare parts accurately to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
  • Carry out inventory movements and process goods transactions using SAP and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ensuring stock accuracy at all times.
  • Support production by replenishing lineside and Kanban stock, issuing materials to the machine shop and production lines, and processing returned or defective items.
  • Maintain high standards of health & safety, quality, and housekeeping (5S), following company procedures and using Stop/Go authority where required.

Required Experience

  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced warehouse, logistics, or materials handling environment.
  • Valid forklift truck license with confidence operating FLTs safely in a busy warehouse setting.
  • Experience using warehouse management systems (WMS), SAP, or similar stock control systems to manage inventory and material movements.
  • Good attention to detail with the ability to accurately pick, pack, label, and process orders while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • A proactive, reliable team player with a strong commitment to health & safety and the flexibility to work permanent night shifts.
