Materials Support Specialist

Location: Brize Norton, Oxfordshire
Contract: 12 months
Rate: £30 per hour, Inside IR35
Hours: 35 hours per week
Working Hours: 7.5 hours per day between 7:00am and 7:00pm
Working Arrangement: Fully onsite

The Role

We are recruiting for an experienced Materials Support Specialist to join an operational Demand Cell team supporting the UK A400M fleet. Working closely with the MRO and P145 teams and reporting to the Material Demand Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing and escalating material requirements to ensure the maintenance and flying programme can be delivered effectively. This is a fast-paced role where you will provide operational material support, particularly around AOG (Aircraft on Ground), Work Stop and other critical material demands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor material demands for the UK A400M fleet.
  • Maintain operational oversight of material requirements relating to maintenance and technical issues.
  • Support the Atlas team with the management and recovery of AOG aircraft both at base and worldwide.
  • Provide escalation for AOG, Work Stop and critical material items, including ADFs and depth maintenance parts.
  • Liaise with customers regarding material procurement requirements.
  • Follow up outstanding parts, delivery estimates and material requirements.
  • Investigate and escalate items at risk of missing required delivery dates.
  • Chase missing or incorrect paperwork and incomplete material requisitions.
  • Escalate unresolved material issues to the appropriate level.
  • Attend daily operational briefings and planning meetings.
  • Work closely with MRO, P145 and other relevant teams to ensure material demands are effectively managed.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in a Materials Support, Material Management or Supply Chain role.
  • Experience working within an aviation or aerospace environment.
  • Good knowledge of material management processes and systems.
  • Experience using SAP SP1, SAP HANA, Airnnav and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience using MDS for P145 material requisitions.
  • Knowledge of EASA Part 145 regulations.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and escalate issues effectively.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced operational environment where meeting deadlines is critical.
