The Bevan Foundation is seeking a Head of Communications and Marketing
The Bevan Foundation is Wales's most influential think tank. We create insights, ideas and impact that help to end poverty and inequality. Over recent years the Foundation has helped secure real and lasting change for people across Wales, from universal free school meals for primary pupils to increases in Education Maintenance Allowance. We’ve built a reputation for trusted, evidence-based insights and ideas that influence decision-makers and improve lives.
About the role
The Bevan Foundation has an exciting opportunity for an individual to lead its communications and marketing work and make a real difference within a small team. You’ll be responsible for all aspects of communications and marketing, from providing strategic direction to our communications and marketing work, to writing copy and managing our social media accounts. Your marketing skills will play a key role in generating income for the Foundation, through a mix of donations and commercial activity. You will work across the Bevan Foundation team as well as having line management responsibilities for the other member of the communications and marketing team.
About you
We’re looking for an outstanding communicator and marketer with experience of delivering complex messages persuasively, a proven track record of raising income, and coming up with great ideas. You’ll build great relationships with people from all walks of life, and care about our vision and share our values.
Key terms
- This is a fixed-term maternity cover position for an anticipated period of 13 months.
- The current post holder works 37.5 hours a week. The Foundation may consider appointing someone on a part-time basis subject to discussions at interview.
- The full-time equivalent salary for this post is £40,402 - £46,341. The expectation is that the candidate would normally be appointed at the bottom of the scale.
- We work in a hybrid way, with staff expected to be office-based for two to three days a week and to attend monthly in-person team meetings. The Foundation’s offices are in Merthyr Tydfil. We are also open to discussing remote working within Wales for the right candidate.
- We would also welcome applications from individuals seeking a secondment opportunity, subject to agreement from their current employer.

Bydd eich sgiliau marchnata yn chwarae rhan allweddol wrth gynhyrchu incwm i'r Sefydliad, trwy gymysgedd o roddion a gweithgarwch masnachol. Byddwch yn gweithio ar draws tîm Sefydliad Bevan yn ogystal â chael cyfrifoldebau rheoli llinell ar gyfer yr aelod arall o'r tîm cyfathrebu a marchnata.

- Rydym yn gweithio mewn ffordd hybrid, gyda disgwyl i staff fod yn swyddfa am ddau i dri diwrnod yr wythnos ac i fynychu cyfarfodydd tîm personol misol. Mae swyddfeydd y Sefydliad ym Merthyr Tudful. Rydym hefyd yn agored i drafod gweithio o bell yng Nghymru ar gyfer yr ymgeisydd cywir.
