Position: MNVP Co-Lead
Location: Wolverhampton
Hours: 15 hours per month
Contract: Self-employed
Pay: £20 per hour
Eligibility: Recent experience of using maternity services in Walsall, ideally within the last 3 years

Role Description
We have an exciting opportunity for someone with personal experience of maternity services in Wolverhampton, ideally within the last 3 years.
The Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnership is a diverse working group of service users with membership also including health care professionals (midwives, obstetricians, etc), commissioners and voluntary sector organisations who come together to provide feedback on experiences within maternity and utilise this feedback to co-produce and improve services.
The role will involve visiting local community events and groups and visiting clinical wards within the maternity service in your allocated locality. This is to listen to the service user voice, gain feedback to champion good practice, and to go towards improving local maternity services. It will also involve co-production with local maternity services to help identify any gaps or opportunities for improvement and therefore work together to create new and/or improved services. You will also be required to attend and present at meetings, submit feedback via official channels regularly and work well alone, and as part of a team.

In this role you will require excellent interpersonal skills, a good degree of computer literacy, the ability to self-motivate, use your own initiative and manage your own time well.
This role is all about being a self-starter, having a genuine care and passion for improving local maternity services and listening to service users voices.
Qualifications
- Experience of speaking and listening to people in an understanding and sensitive way.
- Your own maternity experience in Wolverhampton, ideally within the last 3 years.
- A good standard of computer literacy. Own laptop/PC is required for this role.
- Effective communication skills and ability to build and develop relationships at all levels.
- Ability to create reports to deliver and present at local meetings.
- Ability to use own initiative, and create connections with relevant organisations.
- Contacts within community maternity organisations, and a current understanding of the local maternity system would be highly desirable.
