Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic maternity support worker (MSW) who is passionate about providing support to develop their colleagues. The MSW framework provides an outline of required skills for all MSWs, and the successful postholder will be responsible for working with all MSW's across the Trust to ensure they continue to meet the requirements of the MSW framework. They will also support newly appointed colleagues to achieve the requirements of the role.

Responsibilities

  • In conjunction with the operational matrons, support with on-boarding and training of newly appointed MSWs to meet the requirements of the national MSW framework
  • Support with ongoing training and development of MSWs across the breadth of maternity services
  • Support with the appraisal process for MSWs
  • Provide 1-2-1 support within the clinical setting as required
  • Identify opportunities to engage MSWs in quality improvement within the scope of their role and improve job satisfaction
