We are seeking to recruit several Ward Clerks for full or part-time positions.
Are you someone who enjoys a challenge and able to work as part of a large team whilst being able to work under your own initiative and are you looking to work in a fast-paced healthcare setting? Then this role may be for you.
You will be the welcoming face of the Maternity unit, therefore we are looking for a professional and enthusiastic individual, who demonstrates good communication and interpersonal skills.
You will need to have an ability to be flexible in your role and duties due to the fast-paced nature of the Maternity wards.
24/7 service with shift patterns based on a mixture of Days (11.5 hours), nights (11.5 Hours), and Weekends and Bank Holidays.

To ensure the smooth application and control of all administration, clerical, and computer processes associated with the work area. Ensure the provision of effective communication to both patients and staff to enhance patient care.
- To welcome patients, relatives, and carers on arrival to the ward.
- Ensure patient details are correct on our IT systems and complete admission details on arrival.
- To deal with enquiries and to pass information to the appropriate staff.
- To provide a courteous, responsive, and effective point of contact (in person and by telephone) for patients, carers, and healthcare professionals, both internal and external to the Trust.
- To keep ward diary and excel spreadsheets up to date.
- Promote a customer-focused approach to receive patients and visitors to the ward.
