Head of Maths | Exceptional School in Bushey, Hertfordshire | January 2027 Start

Are you an ambitious Head of Maths looking for your next leadership opportunity? We are seeking an inspirational Head of Maths to join a thriving secondary school in Bushey, Hertfordshire, from January 2027, with an Easter 2027 start potentially negotiable.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Head of Maths to lead a successful department of approximately 10 Maths teachers, shaping the direction of Mathematics across KS3, KS4 and KS5. The successful Head of Maths will play a key role in developing teaching, curriculum and student outcomes.

As Head of Maths, you will inspire staff and students, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning while creating a culture of academic ambition and enjoyment of Mathematics.

The school is a welcoming 11-18 secondary academy and sixth form in Bushey, Hertfordshire, with a strong focus on academic achievement, personal development and high expectations.

What We're Looking For

The ideal Head of Maths will have:

  • UK QTS or equivalent
  • Strong experience teaching Maths at secondary level
  • Previous leadership experience, or experience as a second-in-department/lead practitioner ready to progress
  • The ability to lead, motivate and develop a team
  • Excellent knowledge of curriculum and assessment
  • High expectations of students and colleagues
  • A passion for Mathematics and student achievement
