Maths Teacher - Mexborough - Education and Training

Are you a dedicated Maths Teacher seeking flexible teaching opportunities across Mexborough?

Academics are working with a range of secondary schools and are currently recruiting for a temporary, flexible and ongoing Maths Teacher position. This opportunity allows you to work across different school settings while making a meaningful contribution to students' mathematical development.

Position: Maths Teacher
Location: Mexborough
Contract: Temporary, Flexible, Ongoing
Pay: £140-£195 per day (dependent on experience, training and qualifications, paid via PAYE - no umbrella company fees, inclusive of holiday pay)
Start Date: ASAP
Sector: Education and Training

The Role

You will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective mathematics lessons across KS3 and KS4, helping pupils develop their confidence, problem-solving abilities and understanding of key mathematical concepts.

The position would suit experienced teachers as well as Early Career Teachers (ECTs) looking for flexible and varied work. Depending on your experience and availability, there may also be opportunities to provide general secondary cover.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver effective mathematics lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Establish positive classroom routines and promote good behaviour
  • Encourage pupils to participate actively in their learning
  • Adapt teaching approaches to accommodate different abilities and learning needs
  • Follow school curriculum requirements and existing lesson plans where appropriate
  • Monitor pupil engagement and contribute to their academic progress
  • Provide general secondary cover when required

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Previous experience teaching mathematics or relevant secondary teaching experience
  • Confident classroom management and strong communication skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly to different school environments
  • Enhanced DBS, or willingness to obtain one
  • Enthusiasm for working with young people
