Luma Education Recruitment is working with an impressive specialist school in Peterborough to recruit a passionate and experienced Maths Teacher to join its dedicated teaching team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified Maths Teacher with QTS to work within a specialist SEND and SEMH setting, supporting young people to develop their confidence, engagement and academic progress in Maths.

The school offers small class sizes, excellent facilities, free on-site car parking and a friendly, passionate team committed to providing high-quality education and support.

The Role

  • Teach engaging and appropriately differentiated Maths lessons
  • Work with small classes of pupils with SEND and SEMH needs
  • Plan and deliver lessons that build confidence, knowledge and independence
  • Adapt teaching to meet a range of individual learning needs
  • Establish positive relationships and promote excellent engagement
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide constructive feedback
  • Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive and supportive school environment

Requirements

  • QTS - essential
  • Strong subject knowledge in Maths
  • Experience teaching Maths at secondary level
  • Experience working with SEND, SEMH or pupils with additional needs is desirable
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Ability to differentiate effectively for different abilities
  • Passionate about helping young people achieve their potential
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
