About the Role
We are looking to appoint a qualified teacher who is able to offer one to one tutoring, mainly after school, in order to support our drive to raise standards at both Key Stage 3 and 4. The rate of pay is based on the individual's current teaching grade (excluding TLR). The work that tutors are doing with students is very focused and targeted on specific knowledge, skills or understanding in their subject area. The targeted students are told that the sessions are compulsory. Most tutoring takes place outside of lesson times in an after-school slot. This is to ensure that students have the best possible chance of achieving outstanding progress in their GCSEs. You will be guided in your tutoring by the teacher who teaches the students during the normal school day and the Faculty Leader. You will also be expected to monitor and record progress and feedback to the Faculty Leader and teacher.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
