An Exciting Opportunity as a Matron within our Child Health Department
Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Trust as a Matron within our Child Health Department for our Community Services.
Key Responsibilities
To have management responsibility and accountability for the non-medical staff in the delivery and performance for the Children’s Neurodisability teams (ASD and ADHD) and Children’s Community Nursing Services, which include:
- Children’s Community Nursing Team
- Children’s Continence Service
- Children’s Epilepsy Nursing Team
- Looked After Children’s Nursing Team
- Children’s Training Team
- Home Based Support Team
- Children’s Diabetes Nursing Team
Role Objectives
The Matron for Community Services will work with:
- Lead Nurse Family Care Division
- Matron for Acute Paediatric services
- Head of Practice and Professional Development
- Head of Quality Governance
To promote and ensure the highest standards of care within the services and the wider care unit.

Key Role Requirements
As an experienced clinical leader, you will work with the Lead Nurse for Child Health to lead the community teams ensuring that children and young people and their families receive compassionate and high quality care.
As Matron, you will provide professional leadership and direction for the Community Nursing Services, ensuring the highest standards of clinical care.
Key to this role will be to provide an accessible and visible presence across paediatric services, advising staff, children and young people and their families.
You will need to demonstrate highly developed leadership behaviours and be a role model for our values, inclusion, staff engagement and supporting our teams. Dealing with all incidents and any complaints relating to community services and managed in line with the trusts policies.
