The CRF is a nationally recognised specialist facility delivering early-phase, experimental medicine and complex oncology trials across outpatient, day-case and inpatient services, giving patients access to new and innovative treatments.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, sound professional judgement and the ability to lead and support the team through significant change. They will be passionate about patient care and staff development, fostering a supportive culture that maintains high standards of clinical and research governance and enables staff to deliver world-class research.

The Matron will lead the CRF clinical team and provide visible professional nursing leadership across outpatient, day-case and inpatient services.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
