Are you a dynamic, highly motivated midwife committed to improving patient outcomes and experience?
DBTH are looking for an enthusiastic and committed midwife to join our Midwifery Matron team.
About the Role
This post is rotational within the maternity matron team and you will initially be responsible for the inpatient areas at both Doncaster and Bassetlaw sites, workforce, and education.
Key Responsibilities

As a key member of the Senior Divisional leadership team, you will work collaboratively with the Divisional Director, Clinical Director, Business and Service managers, and the multidisciplinary teams.
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will be proactive, have a proven track record of quality improvement, and will ensure that service needs and patient experience are met to the high standards we aspire to.
Duties
- Provide clinical and professional leadership and line management to the clinical teams
- Report to the Deputy Director of Midwifery and Gynaecology Service, accountable to the Director of Midwifery and Gynaecology Service
- Ensure the key functions of the modern matron are undertaken for the directorate

Leadership and Governance
- Demonstrate effective leadership, setting, monitoring, and maintaining professional standards
- Work collaboratively, manage complaints, and lead the midwifery contribution for clinical governance at a specialty/department level in line with the Nursing & Midwifery Strategy
- Be an integral member of the senior leadership team, providing midwifery advice, managing midwifery teams, having delegated budgetary responsibility, and contributing to innovative solutions to workforce & capacity management
Accountability
- Take responsibility for human and financial resources, contributing to key performance outcomes within the directorate
- Act in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct
