We are seeking MBSE Engineers to support the delivery of next-generation combat air capabilities. Working within integrated systems engineering teams, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of model-based engineering artefacts that support requirements management, architecture development, systems integration and verification activities. This role offers an opportunity to influence future combat air capability through the development, integration and optimisation of advanced sensing architectures, supporting delivery across the full engineering lifecycle.
The successful candidate will help enable digital engineering approaches through the application of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), supporting the development of complex, software-intensive aerospace and defence systems within a collaborative and highly innovative environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain system models using MBSE methodologies and tools.
- Support requirements capture, analysis and traceability activities.
- Contribute to system architecture and interface modelling activities.
- Produce and maintain engineering artefacts in accordance with programme standards.
- Support verification, validation and test planning activities.
- Assist with model reviews, quality assessments and configuration management activities.
- Support technical trade studies and analysis activities.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams including systems, software, safety and integration engineers.
- Contribute to digital engineering and Digital Thread activities.
- Support continuous improvement activities within the systems engineering function.

Qualifications
- Degree qualified in Systems Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or a related STEM discipline.
- Applications are also welcomed from individuals with significant demonstrable experience who don’t hold formal qualifications.
- Professional registration or working towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.

- Model-Based Testing (MBT).
- Digital Twin concepts and implementation.
- Open Mission Systems architectures.
- Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA).
- Virtual Integration and Test Environments.
- Synthetic environments and simulation frameworks.
- Data-centric engineering approaches.
- Software-defined system architectures.
- AI-enabled and autonomous system development environments.
- Knowledge of combat air domain architectures.
Experience
- Significant experience delivering systems engineering activities within aerospace, defence or other highly regulated industries.
- Proven experience leading MBSE activities on complex programmes.
- Experience developing architecture, requirements and verification models.
- Experience supporting multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Experience in modelling in one of the following environments:
- Cameo Systems Modeler / Cameo Enterprise Architecture. (Desired)
- Teamwork Cloud.
- Capella.
- Sparx Enterprise Architect.
- Practical experience of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
- Experience using SysML within engineering projects.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Experience supporting integrated mission systems.
