Do you want to work on large-scale automation and process control projects within the UK Water industry?

This is an enticing opportunity for an MCC / Electrical Design Engineer to join a highly respected electrical engineering business delivering full turnkey automation and control solutions for major water industry projects across Wales and the wider UK. Working on projects for Welsh Water and other key infrastructure clients, this role offers the chance to be involved in technically challenging LV electrical and MCC design projects from concept through to commissioning. Ideal for both ambitious Electrical Design Engineers looking to step up and experienced engineers ready to take ownership of complex industrial systems projects.

The Role

From LV electrical design and MCC development through to project support and technical problem-solving, this varied role offers the opportunity to grow your skills and take ownership in areas such as:

  • Designing LV electrical systems and Motor Control Centres (MCCs) for industrial and water industry projects
  • Producing electrical schematics, panel layouts, and technical documentation using EPLAN and other electrical CAD packages
  • Supporting projects from concept design through to installation and commissioning
  • Working closely with project managers, site teams, and clients throughout project delivery
  • Ensuring designs comply with relevant industry standards and technical specifications
  • Supporting site surveys, compliance activities, and technical reviews
  • Assisting with fault-finding and design improvement activities
  • Contributing to continuous improvement and engineering best practice across the design team

What We're Looking For

We're open to Electrical Design Engineers looking to further develop within industrial automation projects or experienced MCC Engineers ready to take ownership of complex LV systems. You could be a great fit if you have experience or interest in:

  • LV electrical design and industrial control systems
  • MCC design and electrical distribution systems
  • Motor starters, relay logic, and electrical control circuits
  • Electrical CAD software such as EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar
  • Industrial automation, power, or infrastructure projects
  • Working to BS EN 61439 and BS EN 60947 standards
  • Technical problem-solving and project coordination
  • Supporting installation, commissioning, and client-facing activities

  • HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Previous experience within Water, Utilities, Power, or Energy sectors
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
