M&E Commercial Manager
Location: London
Work Pattern: 3/4 Days a week in London office (1/2 days WFH)
Salary: £100,000 - £130,000 + Generous & Extensive Package!

My client is a specialist MEP Contractor who have been operating in excess of 60 years. They are an international contractor with a turnover in excess of £100m per annum as a group, and following the recent appointment of a standout Commercial Director, my client has seen a significant period of growth within the healthcare, education and commercial sectors. With their pipeline booming in these sectors, there is an extensive portfolio ready to explore; their typical project values range from £10m - £35m MEP. As a result of winning multiple projects, they are actively looking to recruit for their Senior Commercial Management team.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead and manage commercial teams across a range of sectors, including Commercial, Healthcare, Labs, Education, and more, based on project demand.
- Oversee the preparation, submission, and negotiation of payment applications and final account settlements.
- Manage all aspects of Sub-Contractor interim payments, including on-site measurements, processing payments, issuing Pay Less Notices, and finalising accounts.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders such as PQS consultants, main contractors, and end clients.
- Develop and maintain project cash flow forecasts, produce monthly cost reports, and conduct comprehensive budget analyses.
- Supervise commercial activities and prepare detailed reports for the Commercial Director.
- Work collaboratively with Operations, Estimating, Procurement, and Design teams to ensure successful project delivery and profitability.
- Partner with the Operations team to manage Sub-Contractor procurement, including financial reviews, competitiveness evaluations, and contract preparation.
- Support the tracking and reporting of progress on live projects.
- Prepare and issue contractual correspondence and notices to Clients and Sub-Contractors as required.
- Monitor, control, and report on costs across all divisions.
- Oversee resource planning and support recruitment initiatives as needed.

Ideal Candidate Profile

- Currently operating as a Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager.
- Possesses strong technical expertise in M&E services with a sound understanding of the construction lifecycle.
- Contractually knowledgeable, with solid experience in managing risk and compliance.
- Proven experience leading teams and mentoring junior staff.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communicator, capable of engaging confidently with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage time and workload independently.
- Familiar with JCT and NEC contract forms.
- Experience in Commercial, Healthcare, Laboratory, Data Centre, or Rail sectors preferred.
- Demonstrated success in senior management roles.
- Holds established relationships with key supply chain partners, including subcontractors and suppliers.
- Experienced in managing multiple projects simultaneously, with a clear understanding of the demands of leading multiple project teams.
