Role Description
The M&E Estimator will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for mechanical and electrical projects, including labor, materials, and subcontractor services. Day-to-day tasks include:

The role involves collaborating closely with project managers, engineers, and the commercial team to ensure estimates align with project requirements and company standards. The M&E Estimator will also support value engineering, risk assessment, and post-tender clarifications, maintaining accurate records and databases for ongoing and future bids.
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Stapleford Tawney.
Qualifications
- Strong experience with mechanical and electrical estimating for building services or construction projects, including quantity take-offs and cost build-ups.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and schedules, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Familiarity with estimating software, Excel, and other relevant digital tools used for cost modeling and tender submissions.
- Solid understanding of M&E systems, materials, and installation methods, including current industry standards and regulations.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with engineers, project managers, suppliers, and clients.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and organizational abilities, including time management and prioritization in a tender-driven environment.
- Previous experience in M&E contracting or construction estimating; experience in UK building services projects is highly beneficial.
- Relevant technical qualification in building services, mechanical or electrical engineering, quantity surveying, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
