About The Role
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical or Electrical Project Manager to deliver multidisciplinary projects across our national client portfolio.
This is a regional role supporting projects across HVAC, mechanical and electrical services, office fit-out and building fabric. Projects will vary in size, scope and complexity, with values of up to £10 million.
You will manage projects from the initial client brief and pre-construction stages through to delivery, completion and handover. You will work closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors and our internal Pre-Construction, Commercial, Health and Safety, Procurement and Operational teams.
A strong mechanical or electrical background is essential for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage mechanical, electrical, HVAC, fit-out and building-fabric projects from initial enquiry through to completion and handover.
- Develop client requirements into clear project scopes, proposals, programmes and delivery plans.
- Manage projects through the relevant RIBA stages in partnership with Pre-Construction and Operational teams.
- Lead design coordination meetings, site surveys and project reviews.
- Prepare contractor proposals, project execution plans, construction phase plans and risk registers.
- Manage procurement and tendering activity for subcontractor work packages.
- Coordinate and control subcontractors, consultants and supply-chain partners.
- Manage project resources, labour requirements and operational support.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
- Maintain compliance with health and safety legislation, company procedures and client requirements.
- Chair project meetings and maintain accurate records, actions and progress reports.
- Monitor project costs, forecasts, variations and commercial performance.
- Identify opportunities to improve project margins and deliver value-engineering solutions.
- Manage contractual change and ensure variations are recorded and reported promptly.
- Agree and monitor project-specific KPIs.
- Maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support the continued development of project teams and ensure personnel have the appropriate skills and training.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
