We are currently recruiting for a National M&E Building Services Contractor for the following permanent role
Required: Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor (Project based)
Employment: Permanent
Salary: c. £95k
1st Project Location: Bracknell
Project: £100m laboratory, digital, and research facilities
Project completion: 2028, you’ll then move onto other project after this one completes
Office Locations: Bristol or London
Summary
Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong Mechanical & Electrical background to join the client/employer’s commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity to take a leading commercial role on a high-profile project with an established team, delivering multiple refurbishment and construction works across a complex, live environment.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading the commercial management of MEP works, including procurement, cost reporting, and contract administration
- Measuring and valuing works (on site and from drawings) for valuations, variations, and final accounts
- Submitting Cost Value Reconciliations and preparing cost to complete
- Managing cash and maximising cash generation
- Preparing cash flow and turnover forecasts
- Preparing internal valuations/CVRs and subcontract liability reports to schedule
- Preparing, negotiating, and agreeing subcontractor and supplier accounts
- Ensuring compliance with contract terms (JCT Design and Build) and internal governance
- Building strong working relationships with clients, supply chain partners, and internal stakeholders

What We're Looking For
- Extensive experience in commercial management and procurement of subcontractors
- M&E subcontracting background essential
- Sound knowledge of JCT Design and Build Conditions of Contract, gained working for an M&E subcontractor
- Proven track record in cost control, reporting, subcontractor management, and change management
- Excellent team player who can also work independently, with strong time management under tight deadlines
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
- Experience in live, operational environments (e.g. aviation, healthcare) advantageous
Qualifications
- Professional qualification (HNC/HND/Degree/Diploma or equivalent)
- RICS Chartership (or working towards) highly desirable
- Previous experience on complex MEP projects desirable
- Experience of collaborative working approach desirable
- CSCS card (relevant category)
