⚡ M&E Site Manager (SR163 PCSM) | National Grid Substation Project | Cornwall
Vallum Associates are currently recruiting for an experienced M&E Site Manager (SR163 PCSM) to support the delivery of a major National Grid substation project in Indian Queens, Cornwall.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-profile energy infrastructure project, working with one of the UK's leading utility and engineering organisations. We're looking for a strong site leader with National Grid experience who can oversee mechanical and electrical works, ensure compliance with site procedures, and drive the safe and efficient delivery of critical project activities.
📍 Location: Indian Queens, Cornwall, UK
💷 Rate: £600 per day (Umbrella, PAYE or CIS)
📄 Contract Type: Temporary Contract
⏰ Working Hours: 07:30 - 17:30
📅 Hours Per Week: 50 Hours

About the Role
As the M&E Site Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day coordination and management of mechanical and electrical activities on a live National Grid project. You will play a crucial role in ensuring works are delivered safely, on schedule, and in line with project specifications and industry standards.

The successful candidate will act as the key site representative, coordinating subcontractors, liaising with project teams, and ensuring all site activities are completed to the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the safe execution of M&E installation and construction activities
- Coordinating site teams, subcontractors, and specialist contractors
- Ensuring compliance with National Grid standards and site procedures
- Driving a strong health, safety, and environmental culture across the project
- Conducting site inspections, audits, and toolbox talks
- Monitoring programme milestones and site productivity
- Identifying and resolving site issues to minimise delays
- Managing permits, RAMS, and site documentation
- Liaising with project managers, engineers, and client representatives
- Supporting project reporting and progress tracking
- Ensuring all work is completed to the required quality standards
- Promoting best practice and maintaining a safe working environment at all times

- SR163
- National Grid Person (NG Person)
- Manual Handling Certification
