THE TEAM

Join JSM Group, a leading provider of integrated utility infrastructure solutions delivering complex power and communications projects across the UK and Europe. You'll be part of our Digital Infrastructure team, responsible for accurately measuring and recording civils and cabling routes to support the design, costing and delivery of telecommunications projects. This role sits at the heart of our pre-construction process, ensuring works are planned and priced with precision.

SCOPE OF ROLE

As a Measure Technician, you will carry out accurate site measures and surveys of proposed and existing routes, recording all relevant data to support estimating, design and installation teams in delivering projects safely, efficiently, and to the correct specification.

HOW YOU'LL SUCCEED

  • Deliver accurate, timely measures that support confident decision-making across estimating and design
  • Build strong working relationships with Surveyors, Estimators and Project Managers
  • Maintain a methodical and detail-focused approach to recording site data
  • Take ownership of your workload, managing multiple sites and deadlines effectively
  • Identify and flag site constraints or discrepancies early to avoid downstream delays
  • Support continuous improvement in measuring processes and documentation standards

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Conducting on-site measures of proposed cable/duct routes, civils works and existing infrastructure
  • Recording accurate distances, depths, obstructions and access points using appropriate measuring equipment and software
  • Producing clear, accurate as-built records and route drawings for costing and design purposes
  • Liaising with Estimators and Surveyors to ensure measure data supports accurate project pricing
  • Identifying and reporting any site constraints, obstructions or access issues that may affect delivery
  • Carrying out CAT & Genny surveys to locate existing underground services where required
  • Ensuring all data is logged accurately and consistently across relevant project systems
  • Working to relevant industry standards and client specifications at all times
  • Maintaining compliance with NRSWA and site safety requirements while working in the public highway or on private land
  • Ensuring all PPE and safe working practices are followed on every site visit
  • Reporting any incidents, close calls or near misses in line with company procedures

WHAT IT TAKES

  • Previous experience in a measuring, surveying or civils-related role (telecoms/utilities preferred)
  • Comfortable working outdoors and on-site in varying conditions
  • Confident using measuring equipment and recording software/apps
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy under time pressure
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • NRSWA accreditation desirable
  • CSCS and/or EUSR Card at the appropriate level desirable
  • Full UK driving licence (site travel required)
  • Self-motivated, well-organised, and able to work independently or as part of a team
