Role Description

The Meat Sales Professional is a full-time, on-site role based at the Darlington facility. This position is responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of customers, including retailers, foodservice operators, and hospitality businesses, through proactive sales outreach and account management.

  • Negotiating pricing and terms
  • Ensuring orders are processed accurately and delivered on time

The role involves working closely with procurement, logistics, and operations teams to match customer requirements with available stock and scheduled deliveries. The Meat Sales Professional will also monitor market trends, maintain detailed sales records, and provide high-quality customer service to support long-term business relationships.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in B2B sales, ideally within meat, food distribution, or FMCG sectors, with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong customer relationship management abilities, including account development, negotiation, and maintaining regular, professional communication.
  • Good understanding of meat products, cuts, quality standards, and supply chain processes, or willingness to develop this knowledge quickly.
  • Solid commercial and numerical skills, including pricing, margin awareness, and confident use of sales and order management systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Highly organized, able to manage multiple accounts and priorities, with attention to detail in documentation and order follow-up.
  • Comfortable working on-site in a depot or warehouse environment, with a flexible approach to peak trading periods and customer demands.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to visit customers when required; previous experience in the UK food or hospitality supply chain is an advantage.
