Role Description
The Mechanic role is a full-time, on-site position based at our Edinburgh service centre. The mechanic will perform day-to-day tasks such as diagnosing vehicle issues, carrying out routine maintenance, completing repairs, and preparing vehicles for MOT inspections.

- Inspecting vehicles
- Identifying mechanical and electrical faults
- Replacing or repairing parts
- Ensuring all work meets safety and regulatory standards
The role involves working with a range of vehicles, operating workshop tools and equipment, and maintaining accurate service records. The mechanic will collaborate with service advisors and other team members to deliver clear updates to customers and help maintain an organized, clean, and safe workshop environment.
Qualifications
- Strong maintenance skills, including routine servicing and general vehicle upkeep.
- Experience with preventive maintenance to identify issues early and reduce breakdowns.
- Proficiency in maintenance and repair of vehicles, including component replacement and system adjustments.
- Ability to work with heavy equipment and use workshop tools and diagnostic devices safely and effectively.
- Solid troubleshooting skills for identifying mechanical and basic electrical faults and proposing effective solutions.
- Relevant automotive technician or mechanic qualification, apprenticeship, or equivalent work experience.
- Knowledge of MOT standards and UK roadworthiness regulations is an advantage.
- Attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and commitment to safe working practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with clear communication to colleagues and customers.
