Location: RAF Brize Norton, Carterton, Oxfordshire (OX18 3LX)

Contract: Until the end of 2026

Working Pattern: 5x5x4 Shift Pattern 06:00–18:00

Rate: £40.00 per hour Umbrella

The Opportunity

Morson Edge is recruiting for Aircraft Fitter/Mechanics to support the maintenance of the A400M Atlas fleet at RAF Brize Norton.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a major military aviation programme supporting one of the RAF's most important aircraft fleets. The role is primarily focused on line maintenance, with opportunities to support hangar maintenance activities when required.

You'll work as part of an experienced engineering team responsible for maintaining aircraft availability while operating within a modern, safety-critical military aviation environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out scheduled, unscheduled and out-of-phase maintenance on A400M aircraft
  • Perform aircraft maintenance tasks in accordance with approved technical documentation and company procedures
  • Support both line maintenance and hangar maintenance activities as required
  • Assist with aircraft servicing, cleaning and general maintenance activities
  • Move aircraft tooling, equipment and spares safely around the site
  • Support aircraft manoeuvring activities when required
  • Service aircraft toilets during maintenance inputs
  • Contain and report fuel or oil spillages in accordance with procedures
  • Maintain clean, safe working areas around aircraft and maintenance facilities
  • Ensure equipment remains serviceable and report any defects promptly
  • Comply with all Health & Safety, aviation safety and security procedures
  • Complete additional maintenance tasks and off-site support (including Aircraft on Ground support) where required
  • Remain up to date with all technical notices and company procedures

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Aircraft engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, apprenticeship or equivalent recognised aircraft qualification)
  • Minimum 3 Years' Aircraft Maintenance Experience
  • Previous competency assessment completed to a satisfactory standard
  • Experience working within an aircraft maintenance environment
  • Good understanding of aviation safety requirements
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to operate Ground Power Units (GPU)
  • Full UK Passport
  • Must be able to obtain Security Clearance
