About The Role

adi Mechanical is looking for an experienced, commercially driven Business Development Manager to support the continued growth of our business across Southern England.

This is a key growth role with a strong focus on new customer acquisition, strategic account development, and generating profitable sales opportunities across manufacturing, process engineering, and industrial sectors.

Working closely with the adi Mechanical leadership, estimating, engineering, and operational teams, you will identify opportunities, develop customer relationships, and convert prospects into long-term partnerships.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Proactively identifying and developing new business opportunities across Southern England.
  • Building a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities within manufacturing, process, and industrial markets.
  • Developing relationships with key decision-makers including engineering, operations, procurement, and senior leadership teams.
  • Winning new customers while identifying further growth opportunities within existing strategic accounts.
  • Developing a detailed understanding of customers' operations, investment plans, engineering challenges, and future requirements.
  • Managing opportunities from initial engagement and site meetings through quotation, negotiation, and order placement.
  • Working closely with estimating, engineering, and operational teams to develop technically appropriate and commercially competitive solutions.
  • Actively following up quotations and converting opportunities into profitable orders.
  • Developing strategic customer account plans for key target organizations.
  • Identifying cross-selling opportunities across the wider adi Group.
  • Building relationships with OEMs, consultants, engineering partners, and other potential routes to market.
  • Maintaining accurate sales pipelines, forecasts, and opportunity information.
  • Monitoring competitor activity, market trends, capital investment programs, and emerging technologies.
  • Representing adi Mechanical at customer meetings, exhibitions, networking events, and industry forums.
  • Delivering agreed sales, margin, new-customer, and business-development targets.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
