This is a senior, site-focused construction role with responsibility for a significant mechanical package incorporating major equipment, installation activities, subcontractor performance, interfaces, quality, safety, programme and commercial delivery.
You will work closely with Construction, Engineering, Procurement, Quality, and Contract Management teams to ensure mechanical works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the required technical and quality standards.
We are particularly interested in speaking with candidates from:
- Nuclear
- Power Generation
- Oil & Gas
- Petrochemical
- Chemical
- Pharmaceutical
- Automotive Manufacturing
- Water
- Heavy Industrial
- Major Infrastructure

Previous nuclear experience would be advantageous but is not essential where you can demonstrate strong mechanical construction experience within a large-scale, technically complex, or highly regulated industrial environment.
The Role
As Mechanical Construction Project Manager, you will take ownership of the planning, coordination, and execution of mechanical erection activities within the Turbine Hall.
The mechanical scope includes major equipment such as:
- Condensers
- Static mechanical equipment
- Main and auxiliary pumps
- Air compressors
- Rotating equipment
- Associated balance-of-plant systems
You will act as a key technical, organisational, and contractual focal point for the mechanical package, working closely with site teams and contractors to maintain construction momentum and resolve issues before they impact programme delivery.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
