Location: Blyth, North East England
Sector: Data Centres / Mission Critical

Project

£10bn Hyperscale Data Centre Campus

Our client is a leading international main contractor delivering some of Europe's most advanced hyperscale and mission-critical data centre developments. They are seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Manager to join the delivery team on a landmark £10bn hyperscale data centre campus in Blyth, North East England. This flagship development, one of the largest data centre campuses in Europe, will be delivered over the next decade and represents one of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for managing the delivery of all mechanical construction activities across a major phase of the project, ensuring safe, high-quality and programme-driven execution from installation through to commissioning and handover. Working closely with Project Managers, MEP Managers, engineers, subcontractors, design teams and client representatives, you will lead mechanical site delivery, coordinate multidisciplinary interfaces and drive programme performance across complex mission-critical mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of all mechanical construction activities across the project
  • Manage mechanical subcontractors and site teams to ensure safe, efficient and high-quality delivery
  • Oversee the installation of HVAC systems, chilled water systems, pipework, public health services, cooling infrastructure and associated mechanical plant
  • Monitor construction progress and implement recovery plans where required
  • Ensure all works comply with drawings, specifications, quality standards and client requirements
  • Coordinate interfaces between mechanical, electrical, CSA, commissioning and logistics teams
  • Manage site resources, construction sequencing and short-term planning activities
  • Review and resolve technical queries, RFIs and design issues with engineering and design teams
  • Drive health, safety and environmental performance across all mechanical works
  • Oversee inspections, testing, quality assurance, snagging and system completion activities
  • Support commissioning teams through system start-up, integrated systems testing and final handover
  • Produce progress reports and attend client, subcontractor and internal coordination meetings
  • Support commercial teams with change management, variations and programme reporting
  • Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies to maintain programme objectives

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
