MCS Group is delighted to be recruiting a Mechanical Contract Manager for our client, a leading mechanical and electrical engineering contractor delivering projects across the UK and Ireland.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Contract Manager to oversee the successful delivery of mechanical projects, managing commercial, technical, and operational aspects from contract award through to completion.

Location: Belfast-based with travel required approximately 2 days per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage mechanical projects from contract award through to completion.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Lead and coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Manage project programmes, costs, variations, and commercial performance.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders.
  • Coordinate procurement, design, and technical requirements.
  • Identify and manage project risks, issues, and potential delays.
  • Ensure works meet required quality, health and safety, and environmental standards.
  • Attend client and project meetings, providing updates on progress and performance.
  • Support commissioning, completion, and handover of projects.

About You

  • Previous experience as a Mechanical Contract Manager, Contracts Manager, Project Manager, or similar within the M&E sector.
  • Strong mechanical building services background, ideally covering HVAC, plumbing, and pipework.
  • Proven experience delivering mechanical projects from start to finish.
  • Strong commercial, contractual, and project management skills.
  • Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Relevant mechanical engineering, building services, or construction qualification is desirable.
