Mechanical Contracts Manager

Scotland | £65,000 - £90,000 + Bonus + Excellent Benefits

Your new company

Due to a significant increase in secured workload across major defence, infrastructure and commercial projects, our client is seeking an experienced Mechanical Contracts Manager to join their leadership team.

This established and highly respected M&E contractor has built a strong reputation throughout Scotland for delivering complex mechanical and building services projects across a diverse range of sectors, including commercial, healthcare, education, industrial, residential and public sector developments. With a substantial pipeline of secured work and ambitious growth plans, they are now looking to strengthen their operational team with the appointment of a Mechanical Contracts Manager.

Your new role

As Mechanical Contracts Manager, you will take responsibility for the successful delivery of multiple mechanical building services projects across Scotland, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards. You will work closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal teams, managing projects from pre-construction through to commissioning and final handover.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing multiple mechanical building services projects across Scotland.
  • Leading project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Overseeing programme management, resource allocation and site operations.
  • Managing subcontractor performance and supply chain relationships.
  • Monitoring project costs and collaborating with commercial teams on variations, valuations and reporting.
  • Maintaining strong client relationships and acting as a key point of contact throughout project delivery.
  • Ensuring compliance with all health & safety and quality procedures.
  • Attending project review and progress meetings.
  • Supporting the development of repeat business opportunities and framework agreements.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Contracts Manager within the Building Services sector.
  • Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, pipework, public health and mechanical installations.
  • Experience managing projects ranging from £1m to £20m+.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and contractual understanding.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • A recognised Mechanical Engineering or Building Services qualification.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Previous experience delivering projects within healthcare, defence, commercial, education, life sciences or industrial environments would be highly advantageous.
