Competitive salary: £37,389 - £44,307
Additional earnings: Standby allowance, overtime and call-out payment
As a Mechanical Craftsperson, you'll play a vital role in maintaining and repairing our water treatment assets, pumping stations, and reservoirs. Your expertise will help ensure a safe, reliable water service for our communities while protecting the environment.
This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same. You'll tackle complex mechanical challenges, develop your technical skills, and work as part of a team that keeps essential services running.
What you'll be doing:
- Carrying out reactive maintenance, repairs and fault-finding on a wide range of mechanical assets.
- Manufacturing, modifying and fabricating parts and equipment when required.
- Producing detailed specifications for replacement components and equipment.
- Supporting operational teams in diagnosing and resolving complex mechanical issues.
- Working safely and ensuring compliance with risk assessments and method statements (RAMS).
- Participating in the standby and call-out rota to support operational resilience.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of asset performance and reliability.

What we're looking for:
- A completed apprenticeship in a mechanical or relevant technical discipline.
- Proven experience maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills, with the ability to repair complex mechanical assets.
- A sound understanding of RAMS and safe systems of work.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team in a safety-critical environment.
- Experience working within wastewater treatment processes would be advantageous.
