Mechanical Craftsperson

Brief

Mechanical Craftsperson needed for a well-known, large Facilities Management organisation based in Birmingham who are looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded Mechanical Craftsperson that takes pride in their work with an in-depth knowledge of Mechanical crafts in diagnostics, repair of mechanical systems, water systems, legionella, TMV and AHU Servicing.

The successful candidate would have a relevant qualification - i.e. NVQ Level 2 or 3 Plumbing or Heating and Ventilation etc. - and have an interest in Mechanical Crafts. If you have commercial experience in healthcare that would be a plus!

What the role entails:

Some of the main duties of the Mechanical Craftsperson will include:

  • The responsibilities will mainly be at the Mental Health Sites of Barberry, Oleaster & Zinnia, however this could extend to other areas on the contract if requested by Senior Management
  • Undertake any reasonable duties directed by TSM/Supervisor/Helpdesk to maintain all services to the NHS Trust, and ensure that all associated paperwork is completed in a satisfactory, accurate and prompt manner
  • Perform the complete range of Mechanical Craftsperson tasks as required or directed by management
  • Carry out all works in compliance with KPI's and contract
  • Have a knowledge of water / mechanical systems within a healthcare environment and maintenance / testing activities
  • Have a knowledge of Legionella and other water pathogens
  • Undertake temperature monitoring, shower head cleaning and disinfection, Tank visual inspections, TMV servicing, AHU servicing, to name a few
  • Drive the company vehicle as required to meet the needs of the service
  • Participate in the on‑call rota

What experience you need to be the successful Mechanical Craftsperson:

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 equivalent qualification relevant to Plumbing
  • Legionella/TMV/Disinfection awareness and training
  • Water hygiene training (Desirable)
  • Valid driving licence
  • (This role includes a DBS Enhanced with Barred Lists, therefore ability to pass is essential.)
