The Team
We are a global, independent, multidisciplinary consultancy delivering sustainable engineering and design solutions across the built environment. With over 1,200 engineers and designers across 29 locations, we apply our expertise to local market conditions to deliver resilient, low-carbon engineering solutions. As part of this role, you will join our dedicated data centre team. Established in 2006, we have delivered over 2,000 MW of capacity for our clients worldwide. In 2025, we were named Data Centre Consultancy of the Year by Data Centre Review and were ranked in the top 10 by Data Centre Magazine in 2023.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and client-focused mechanical engineer to join our Critical Systems team and play a leading role in ensuring the successful delivery of innovative mechanical design solutions for some of the most exciting and high-profile projects in the data centre and critical systems fields, both in the UK and internationally.

The role will include:
- Leading and supporting mechanical engineers in the delivery of designs.
- Managing fees, programmes, and design quality.
- Communicating clearly with project teams, clients, and other disciplines.
- Remaining actively involved in the design process and producing deliverables where required.
- Helping to maintain and build strong client relationships, supporting repeat business through trusted delivery, clear communication, and a strong understanding of client needs.
- Contributing to work-winning activity, helping to identify opportunities, and supporting proposals where appropriate.
- Playing an important role in nurturing and developing junior engineers, helping them grow in confidence, capability, and technical judgement.
- Working closely with senior engineers and the senior management team, contributing to the wider leadership and development of the team.
The Skills
You will be a Chartered Engineer, educated to degree level in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (MEng, BEng, or equivalent), with experience in a mechanical engineering role within a data centre, critical systems, or building services context.

Given the client-facing nature of this role, you must also have proven experience of client engagement.
You will have experience in the data centre field, including a strong understanding of the principles of data centre design and delivery across a range of projects. In your most recent position, you will have consistently demonstrated your ability to manage multiple large-scale projects and less experienced engineers to deliver to client expectations.
