Product Development Engineer
A leading manufacturing company is hiring a Product Development Engineer to join their global engineering team in Milton Keynes. This role offers hands-on involvement in bringing products from concept through production, including prototyping, testing, and onsite support. The position is permanent and requires practical engineering skills and project ownership.
Product Development Engineer Responsibilities:
- Develop and prototype new products using CAD tools, ensuring designs meet functional, manufacturing, and commercial standards.
- Build, modify, and evaluate prototypes through practical assembly and testing processes.
- Support the installation, testing, and validation of products at customer sites, suppliers, and test facilities.
- Operate relevant fabrication and assembly tools for product development and testing activities.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including suppliers, quality, operations, and sales to deliver production-ready solutions.

Product Development Engineer Qualifications:
- A degree, HNC, HND, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Hands-on experience gained through a formal apprenticeship or work in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Proven ability to develop, test, and launch innovative products with strong functionality.
- Experience in improving existing products through cost reduction and manufacturability enhancements.
- Strong competency in creating detailed engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications, and bills of materials.
