About us

At National Gas, the work we do matters.

As Britain's national gas network, we help keep the lights on, businesses running, and homes warm by maintaining the critical infrastructure that transports gas across Great Britain. While providing the energy security Britain relies on today, we're also helping transform the network for a clean energy future.

Join us and help secure Britain's energy.

About the role

Help shape the mechanical engineering solutions behind a major programme of investment in our gas transmission infrastructure.

As Mechanical Design Coordinator, you’ll provide technical leadership across capital projects, coordinating design from concept through construction, commissioning, and close-out to deliver safe, practical, compliant, and future-ready solutions.

Why this role matters

With our RIIO-T3 investment programme increasing the scale of projects across our network, strong engineering design and assurance will be critical to successful delivery. You’ll be at the centre of that work, bringing together project teams, engineering specialists, contractors, and design partners.

Your expertise will help ensure our infrastructure remains safe and reliable while influencing smarter, more sustainable engineering solutions. You’ll have the opportunity to challenge designs, manage technical risk, and make decisions that improve safety, operability, whole-life value, and environmental performance.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
