Mechanical Design Engineer
Fully onsite - Near East Kilbride, Full-Time Permanent Salaried role – Excellent Basic plus Benefits package
Our client is currently recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a growing engineering and R&D environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer with strong CAD capability and a passion for product development and manufacturing excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce detailed 2D and 3D mechanical designs
- Support manufacturing and production troubleshooting activities
- Work with revision control, DFM, and GD&T principles
- Participate in First Article Inspection (FAI) processes
- Collaborate across engineering and production teams
- Present technical information clearly to stakeholders

Requirements:
- HNC or higher in Mechanical Engineering or minimum CADD qualification
- Strong IT and technical software skills
- Demonstrable CAD experience including:
- 3D CAD (Inventor preferred, alternatives considered)
- 2D CAD (AutoCAD/Draftsight)
Desirable Skills:
- RSS study knowledge - statistical tolerance analysis
- 3D printing and CNC experience
- Research & Development experience / Manufacturing industry background
- Ansys Mechanical experience - a finite element analysis (FEA) software
It would also be useful if you have knowledge of Revision control, Design for Manufacture (DFM), GD&T principles (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) along with practical hands-on engineering experience and excellent communication and presentation skills
