Role Overview

Be part of a team assessing and driving achievement of program specific performance within Honeywell Global Product Engineering Services organization. Responsibilities will be creation of 2D drawings and 3D models and process engineering changes through the Honeywell Aerospace PLM system, impacting the Honeywell Aerospace Yeovil Location and the sister divisions supporting that facility. In addition, you will work with Class II Design Authority for Life support, engine bleed & environmental control, and hydraulic systems at Site for Phase 6 IR (Item Resolution)/ECNs (Engineering Change Notifications) supporting ISC. You will partner with world-class engineers supporting sites on design improvements, design for manufacturing ideas to improve day-to-day operations and supply chain performance.

Control Systems develops the thermal and motion control systems that help aircraft take off, land safely and protect the people on board. With more than 10 million passengers per day flying on aircraft equipped with our products and more than 75% of commercial flights beginning with our engine start systems, Control Systems reaches farther across the aviation industry than most people realize.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work in accordance with procedures and design standards and to contribute to developing best working practices.
  • Be responsible for the completion of drawing packs and any other supporting documentation including drawings and any associated tolerance analyses.
  • Liaise with production engineering and production planning in order to achieve a design/detail package best suited to production.
  • Be committed to delivering against project schedules and meeting project milestones whilst working within a multi-project team environment.

Key Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (A mechanical engineer / designer competent in the use of both 2D drawings and 3D modelling. The ideal candidate should be degree qualified though this is not essential and would not prevent success where candidates have the right skills, experience and motivation).
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in engineering
  • Experience of small component design, design for manufacture principles and fine tolerance components.
  • Customer awareness and strong results-focused work ethic.
  • Experience of design, ideally in the field of precision components.
  • Experience with 3D & 2D CAD, preferably Siemens NX.
