Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Whetstone, UK
Contract: Outside IR35
Duration: 6 months
Hours: 40 hours per week
Hybrid: Potential for 2 days WFH / 3 days office
Join a leading organisation in the aerospace sector, specialising in advanced aeroengine design, development, manufacturing and lifecycle propulsion services. The business is at the forefront of delivering innovative and efficient engineering solutions for aerospace industry.
We are currently looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join an exciting engineering project on a 6-month contract.

Experience & Qualifications:
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering preferred, HND minimum.
- Aerospace industry experience.
- Ability to design interfaces considering fit, form, and function.
- Gas turbine experience.
- Excellent Siemens NX skills, with surfacing experience advantageous.
- Teamcenter experience, particularly working with NX CAD files.
- Ability to size components using hand calculations.
- Experience with bolted joint calculations and stack-up calculations.
- Experience writing design specifications for new equipment.
- Experience working on fabrications and Mathcad.

Desirable Experience:
- Stress calculations using ANSYS Workbench.
- Gas turbine experience.
- Detailing and producing detail drawings.
