About ZeroAvia

ZeroAvia is leading the transition to zero-emission aviation through the development of hydrogen-electric propulsion systems for civil and defence aerospace applications. As the world's only Design Organization Approved business focused exclusively on hydrogen-electric aviation, we have achieved significant flight test and regulatory milestones with the UK CAA and FAA and secured more than 3,000 pre-orders from airlines, OEMs and defence customers globally. Joining ZeroAvia means being part of a team pioneering the future of aviation and delivering lasting impact for the planet and its people.

Role Overview

As ZeroAvia advances towards certification and commercial deployment, the Mechanical Design Engineer will play a critical role in developing the mechanical systems and structures that enable our hydrogen-electric propulsion technologies. Working within a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary engineering environment, you will be responsible for creating robust, manufacturable and certifiable design solutions, from concept through to production. You will apply advanced mechanical design principles, CAD expertise and engineering judgement to solve complex technical challenges while supporting certification activities, manufacturing integration and programme delivery. This is a unique opportunity to contribute directly to cutting-edge aerospace innovation and help shape the next generation of zero-emission aircraft.

Responsibilities

  • Create, develop, and maintain complex 3D CAD models, manufacturing drawings, engineering documentation, and associated design data for mechanical components and assemblies
  • Apply sound mechanical engineering principles, including GD&T, material selection, manufacturing processes, and supporting analysis, to deliver robust, manufacturable, and compliant design solutions
  • Manage design data and configuration within the PLM system, ensuring all engineering outputs meet applicable quality, certification, and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and external stakeholders to resolve technical challenges, support production activities, and ensure successful project delivery
  • Participate in design reviews, reviewing engineering deliverables, and working towards engineering signatory approval authority

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
