Mechanical Design Engineer - Marine Projects
North West England
£50,000 – £75,000 depending on experience
Marine / Maritime Engineering
I’m working with an established engineering organisation looking to add an experienced Marine Mechanical Design Engineer to its technical team.
This isn’t a purely desk-based design role. They need someone who combines strong mechanical design capability with genuine hands-on engineering experience and understands how mechanical systems work in a real marine environment.

- Previous marine / maritime engineering experience – essential
- Strong mechanical design and engineering background
- Experience using Autodesk Inventor
- Practical, hands-on mechanical engineering experience
- Experience producing engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation
- Good understanding of marine mechanical systems, equipment and installations
- Ability to take ownership of engineering work packages
- Experience working alongside production, engineering and multidisciplinary teams
- Strong practical problem-solving skills
- Relevant Mechanical / Marine Engineering qualification or equivalent experience
- Security clearance required

You could currently be working as a Marine Mechanical Engineer, Mechanical Design Engineer, Marine Design Engineer, Mechanical Systems Engineer, or Mechanical Designer. The sweet spot is someone who can design it, understand how it goes together and actually knows what works in practice.
Salary: £50,000 – £75,000 depending on experience.
