Own the mechanical development of a counter-drone system, taking designs from concept and CAD through to working, tested hardware.

This is a practical engineering role in an early-stage defence technology business. You will design structures, airframes, mechanisms and actuation systems, integrate sensor heads and subsystems, and build the prototypes and test rigs needed to prove your designs.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Developing CAD designs and turning them into physical hardware.
  • Carrying out hands-on fabrication, assembly, testing, and fault finding.
  • Resolving integration issues across mechanical and electronic interfaces.
  • Improving designs through repeated build-and-test cycles.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

You will need strong mechanical design and CAD experience, a sound understanding of structures and actuation, and practical workshop experience. You must also be comfortable working with electrical schematics, actuators, power, and wiring.

Experience limited to CAD or drawing production will not meet the requirement: you need evidence of personally building and testing what you have designed.
