Job Details

Are you a pragmatic, hands–on engineer who thrives on solving real–world challenges? We are looking for an experienced Design Engineer to join a fast–paced, innovative team focused on the development of electrified machine demonstrators and prototypes. If you enjoy working close to the hardware and seeing your designs evolve from concept to a functional machine, we would love to meet you.


What You Will Do

  • Lead concept and detailed design activities for electrified machine systems and subsystems.
  • Create and maintain high–quality engineering models, drawings, and comprehensive design documentation.
  • Oversee mechanical packaging, electrical integration, and complex machine–level design tasks.
  • Collaborate across build, validation, and project teams to ensure seamless development.
  • Investigate technical issues and implement practical, immediate engineering solutions.
  • Participate in design reviews, prototype builds, and essential engineering change activities.
  • Support commissioning and validation programs, with occasional travel to project or customer sites.

Your Profile

  • Strong mechanical design experience within a product development environment.
  • Proven electrical design and integration experience, preferably with vehicle, industrial, or electrified systems.
  • Proficiency in Creo, with the ability to manage complex engineering models and technical drawings.
  • Background in automotive, off–highway, or heavy–duty machinery industries.
  • A self–motivated team player who is comfortable in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to take ownership of tasks with limited supervision.

What We Offer

  • Compensation: Pay up to 27.22 per hour (PAYE).
  • Contract: Initial 12 month month assignment.
  • Schedule: 37–hour working week, full–time on–site in Peterborough
  • Environment: Collaborative, fast–paced atmosphere focusing on cutting–edge electrification programs.
